Background: Angel Mitchell is a resilient little girl who resides in the impoverished slums of Kaptembwo. Having been abandoned by her parents as a toddler along with her three siblings, they spent their early childhood searching for food and often went to bed hungry. Despite her daily hardships, this bright child remains passionate about her education and dreams for the future.
Her favorite subjects are Math and English, and she aspires to become a doctor. She recognizes the value of education in breaking free from the cycle of poverty and improving her own life. When she’s not studying, she loves to sing and play hide and seek with her friends at the IHF center.Â
“When Angel was asked why she should be considered for a scholarship or sponsorship, her response was heartwarming and insightful.” She expresses her genuine need for financial support, which would allow her to continue her educational journey, chase her dreams, and ultimately help those who faced extreme hardships like she did. Angel’s unwavering resolve and spirit undoubtedly make her a deserving recipient of support as she perseveres through adversity in search of a brighter future.”
