My name is John and I am originally from Siaya and I moved recently to Nakuru. I am sure I will become a lawyer because I feel inside myself the urgency to fight for a more just world.
My parents broke up when I was 6 months old and I have never seen my mother since then. My father got married with another woman who kicked me out from the house when my father was put in jail. I asked for help to my grandmother in Nakuru, she was the sweetest person in the world, but she could not afford to host me or help me financially. I lived as a street child at the recycling station and I sold some copper to keep going. Finally, I was brought to the IHF Center and my life changed.
I study very hard everyday and I will do everything in my possibilities to achieve my goals. Education is essential in the life of an individual because learning new things is the key to have a better life. For example, I have other interests outside school; fashion and design, food and nutrition, I love creating meal plans and writing recipes. This sponsorship would represents an amazing opportunity for me to become a lawyer and to help people who have been through my same path. My motto is: “Let your past not define who you are”.
