My name is Apura Moses.
I am currently writing my Form 4 exam that will determine my marks for going to University. I plan to study Agricultural Management so that I can go back home and help my family and the community in East Pokot. I am choosing Agricultural studies because East Pokot is largely a dry place so there is very little farming. I want to help bring water to the people to make life easier and also help with agricultural activities.
I value the education I am getting because, as I said before, only one other of my siblings has some formal education and I want to help my younger siblings get an education as well. I believe that if I get a higher education I will be able to help my community and my family in a way I would not have been able to without it. Wanting a better life for my family, community and myself is what motivates me to study harder and want to get the education.
In the next ten years I hope to have developed an agricultural system in my hometown, creating employment for my home people and to have brought a better irrigation and water system to East Pokot. When the system is running well then I will look at transportation of goods around the country.
